SURPRISE! A LITTLE CHICKEN NUGGET!

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

For those of you who don't know... WE FOUND OUT WE WERE PREGNANT JUNE 1ST!!! SURPRISE!!! About 4.5 weeks along at that time... SHE was and is oh so wanted and we are so BLESSED!!! YEAH, SHE!

THE BACK STORY:

I had been feeling sick for weeks... anxiety, loss of appetite, EXHAUSTED, foggy headed... some of our closest friends kept saying, "are you sure you aren't pregnant?".

I was in denial about it, even denying any question of it to Jonathan day of before the test... but the sickness just got so bad and I felt so off, I finally Ieft work at lunch time to grab a pregnancy test.

I waited until after work when I got home... and sure enough, I peed on the stick and the little pink lines popped up, POSITIVE!

I was so scared. I sat on the toilet paralyzed, staring at the stick on the verge of sheer panic (yeah not so glamorous). Jonathan was still working from home in the other room and his business partner/ one of our closest friends was over for the rest of the work day. (probs bad timing for a pregnancy test but I couldn't wait)... so I had to wait to break the news... news that was very OFF OUR RADAR.

I went outside and called one of my closest friends so she could help me talk through what I was feeling. I cried, panicked, asked a lot of questions, told her how scared I was... got off the phone a lot more rational lol... but still terrified Jonathan would be just as terrified as me.

When I got Jonathan alone and he was able to unwind, I pulled him into the bedroom, sat on the bed and showed him the test. I didn't even know what to say. He just responded "What? Are you serious? Okay. We're gonna be parents. Okay. Uh okay. Wow.".

We had a few moments laughing and smiling and a few moments of absolute panic and tears. But man... to be able to share that time processing together was EVERYTHING.

We told our families day of so we could all be in the loop and process together.

That first month knowing was challenging and chaotic. Planning, processing, still having a wedding reception to finalize, physical sickness... A LOT OF PHYSICAL SICKNESS... all of the above.

BUT WE GOT THROUGH IT.

I found an OBGYN/Midwife within just a few weeks who we ADORE (Womens Specialist of Northside Gwinnett if you are looking!!). We went in for our first ultrasound at 8 + 6 weeks, and got to see our little nugget sized lump of life WE MADE!!!

Found out little was a GIRL at week 14.

Dealt with high blood pressure, low blood sugar, malnutrition, and weight loss from my constant nausea and puking to begin with. BUT NOW WERE HOME FREE and our girl is totally healthy.

NOW AT 20 WEEKS:

I have left my job to be prepare for our girl, focus on ministry, blogging and writing. I want to be a full time momma, but also have a million other visions and passions I want to pursue.

Feeling and SEEING this girl kick is the most precious thing I've every experienced.

Fun Fact: She LOVES to kick REALLY hard when I drink milkshakes.

I'm not sick at all anymore, just hungry, swelling, and tired lol.

We just got back from our engagement anniversary trip and a small trip to Disney before our annual passes expired... all the travel and walking has triggered the swelling, but even with that the trips were SO special and MUCH needed.

Our next appointment is 09/23/2020 and we will have our Anatomy and 3D Scan done. We will get to see that precious face, dose wittle feet and fingers... as long as she cooperates. I'M OVER THE MOON EXCITED!

We will keep you all updated!
